Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways for a Chamber member to get involved and to expand their network of contacts. One way is to volunteer … and, there are many ways you can volunteer.
The Chamber always needs help … and volunteering for Chamber activities is fun and rewarding, and a great way to give back to your community and meet new people. If you are interested in volunteering for a Chamber event, or joining a committee, please contact Michele Berardo at 203-255-1011 for information on upcoming events & committee updates.
Events:
Every year, the Chamber hosts community events, business expos, breakfast get-togethers, after hours events, workshop & speaker series, plus a variety of other programs. These events can be fundraisers or events to help members meet other members or promote themselves. Every event takes extensive, and behind-the-scene planning, to ensure that logistics are detailed so everything is seamless and goes smoothly … and attendees enjoy the full experience of the event!
Committees:
We also have committees that meet monthly. These committees act as a body of leadership, providing direction, implementation and planning …critical to the success of any event or program. Participation on Chamber committees is a membership privilege and should be regarded as an important responsibility to help the Chamber be successful.
Available Committees:
Event Planning
This group is primarily responsible for our big annual fundraiser: planning the event, soliciting auction items, decorating, sponsorship outreach and providing ideas to make the event better each year. In addition, review the year-round calendar of events for optimizing outcomes. Annual events include: Beach Bash, Santa’s Arrival, Spring Fling Annual Fundraiser, Harvest Market, plus the Health & Fitness Expo.
Marketing
Do you have a creative side? Then join us on the Marketing Committee! Whether social media, e-blasts, graphic design, website or copywriter, it’s all about brand-awareness!
Membership
Are you passionate about the Chamber? This group works hand-in-hand with Marketing to come up with useful ideas for recruiting new members and retaining existing members … and also developing an annual membership drive campaign.
