An Excursion Through 3,000 Years of Italian History
Oct. 14–24, 2010 • $2,499 per person double occupancy
Begin in Rome — Renaissance hub, Italian capital, cradle of the Empire — including a tour of the Vatican. Venture out to Assisi (home town of St. Francis) and Perugia.
Then make your way to Siena in the heart of Tuscany. See the vineyards of Chianti, steep yourself in 3,000 years of history at Volterra, and marvel at the medieval towers of San Gimignano.

Spend two whole days exploring Firenze (Florence), the birthplace of the Renaissance. Continue on to Pisa — where the famous tower is just the beginning — and the remarkably preserved historic center of Lucca.
In the end, the road leads back to Rome, stopping at Grosetto along the way.
