Town of Fairfield

Welcome to Fairfield…

Fairfield celebrated its 375th Anniversary in 2014. Founded in 1639, Fairfield continues to be a charming town and maintains a small-town feeling even with its more than 59,000 residents. Perfectly settled along five miles of shoreline on the Long Island Sound, Fairfield has five town beaches … plus, two esteemed universities, many parks and ball fields, two public golf courses, and a vibrant array of fine dining, restaurants and shopping.

The schools are among the state’s best (top 25 in the state) with rich academic programs, to provide students with the most current knowledge and tools they need for a successful future.

Only 50 miles from New York City, Fairfield is easily accessible to I-95 and the Merritt Parkway and has three train stations on the Metro North line that extends from New Haven, Connecticut to New York’s Grand Central Terminal.

MONEY Magazine has chosen Fairfield, Connecticut as the 44th “Best Place to Live” in America in its 2014 “Best Places to Live” edition.
